Craig Henderson, Artist

Celebrating togetherness

I’m Craig Henderson, an Oxfordshire artist living near Henley-on-Thames. I paint teascape scenes that capture the stories and moments we share over a simple cup of tea and a slice of cake.

My work emphasises bold forms and strong colour palettes, offering a playful take on intimate home interiors. Celebrating the English tradition of afternoon tea and tableside gatherings, my paintings find joy and delight in fleeting moments of togetherness.

Craig Henderson and Belinda Millar present work inspired by the rhythms of daily life – friends gathering, meals shared, and landscapes that hold meaning. Together, their paintings celebrate care, connection, and the comfort of places we return to.

I paint scenes inspired by small but meaningful moments – friends gathered, familiar places, and the comfort of shared meals. His work brings a sense of welcome through soft shades, bold marks, and stories of village life.

At this exhibition, I will be launching a new innovative collection of multi-way paintings. See below for details.

Belinda’s art is rooted in the landscape she knows well. Working on location, she captures changing weather, open fields, and peaceful corners of rural Oxfordshire, adding her signature flashes of glowing colour.

Introducing multi-way teascapes

My teascape paintings depict tables set for afternoon tea, where cups, plates, and small arrangements form a quiet, contained world.

Each multi-way painting comprises two or four panels that can be rearranged, so the image circulates through a series of possible forms. Nothing quite begins or ends; each configuration holds, then gives way to another.

You might think of them as toroidal teascape quadriptychs; four-part paintings that fold back on themselves, offering several ways to be seen.

A four-way painting depicting a table setting with cups, bowls, a vase with flowers, and a fruit bowl with oranges on a light-coloured table. The four panels of the quadriptych can be rearranged to change the composition of the overall piece.
